We stayed in Tuscania and the accommodations were very economical and the hospitality was first rate. This little town is a hidden gem with beautiful views and rich history. It was a refreshing stop between Rome and Florence on our tour of Italy.

I visited Assisi in Sept 2006 by bus from Rome & 30 April & 1 May 2023 in a Cosmos's Catholic tour group . It was cute town of 13th century.

Lived in Ceri, actually in tents at the bottom of the hill, one summer in high school as part of Campo Scuola GAI. I’ve been able to return to stay at its renovated Borgo. Excellent restaurant nearby (in 2017). The Lazio: beautiful, historic.

Christmas traditions are very different according to the regions. For exemple, Christmas sweeties are completely different: in North they look a sweet bread-like cakes (Pandoro and Panettone). In central italy (Tuscany and Latium) they look like little forms of dry fruits (Panforte, pan pepato, pangiallo), in Naples (South) they look special round and square cookies, in Sicily a short cake filled with ricotta cheese and covered by icing (often with wonderful looking). Another difference, the persons that bring gifts to children. Saint Lucia in North East, "la befana" (a witch-like old woman) in Rome and the south.
